Justice

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time - 2nd Sunday of Advent
November 9 - December 2, 2025

32nd Sunday in OT: The Just Woman Worships God Worthily at Holy Mass

Purpose: To help the girls understand the virtue of Justice, particularly as it relates to giving God His due through worthy worship at Holy Mass. By reflecting on Moses’ encounter with God in The Prince of Egypt and exploring the Catechism’s teachings, the lesson invites participants to recognize that justice begins in right relationship—with God first, and then with others. It emphasizes that the Eucharist is the ultimate act of God’s self-giving love, and we are called to respond by participating fully, attentively, and gratefully in the Mass. Through prayer, preparation, and intentional worship, the girls are encouraged to cultivate hearts that are open to grace and transformed by God’s presence in the Eucharist.

33rd Sunday in OT: The Just Woman Does Not Demand or Desire More Than She Deserves

Purpose: To highlight the danger of entitlement and the freedom of true justice. Using Cinderella, this lesson shows how Ella’s choice to forgive and act with mercy, rather than seeking revenge or demanding what others could not give, demonstrates justice rooted in humility and love. Justice is about right relationship—with God, neighbor, and self—not selfish desire.

Christ the King: The Just Woman Performs Her Penance with Devotion and Piety

Purpose: To help the girls understand how the virtue of Justice calls us to give God His due through sincere repentance and devout penance. By exploring the sacrament of Confession and the example of Emma’s humility in Emma, the lesson teaches that true justice toward God involves acknowledging our sins, seeking His mercy, and making reparation for the harm caused by sin. It emphasizes that penance is not a punishment but an act of love—a way to restore our relationship with God and others, grow in holiness, and renew our commitment to live as faithful daughters of Christ the King. Through confession, conversion, and acts of devotion, the girls are encouraged to approach God with contrite hearts and respond to His mercy with gratitude and love.

1st Sunday of Advent: The Just Woman Works for Peace

Purpose: To help the girls understand how the virtue of Justice calls us to be women who actively work for peace—in our hearts, our homes, and our communities. By reflecting on Kevin’s encounter with Old Man Marley in Home Alone and the Beatitude “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God,” the lesson teaches that true peace is rooted in truth, love, and right relationship with God and others. It encourages the girls to use their words to build up rather than tear down, to forgive rather than hold grudges, and to approach conflicts with compassion and humility. Through this Advent reflection, they are invited to prepare their hearts for Christ’s coming by becoming peacemakers who bring healing, harmony, and justice wherever they go

2nd Sunday of Advent: The Just Woman Gives to the Poor

Purpose: To help the girls understand that the virtue of Justice calls us to give others what is rightfully theirs—especially the poor and vulnerable. Drawing inspiration from Clare and Francis, the lesson illustrates that true justice is rooted in love and expressed through self-giving service. By seeing and treating each person with dignity, as Clare does with the imprisoned man, we imitate Christ’s mercy and fulfill our call to be His hands and feet in the world. This lesson challenges the girls to recognize that giving to the poor—whether materially, emotionally, or spiritually—is not just an act of charity but an act of justice, a response to the truth that all people are deserving of the necessities of life and the love of God.
