Initiation Ceremony

The Fidelis Sisterhood Initiation Ceremony is a sacred and memorable milestone, welcoming young women into a deeper journey of faith, virtue, and sisterhood. Rooted in Catholic tradition, the ceremony centers on prayer, symbolism, and commitment, guiding each sister to embrace her identity as a beloved daughter of God.

The evening begins with a solemn procession, prayers, and a reading from Scripture. The altar is adorned with a crucifix and seven candles representing the theological and cardinal virtues, with the central candle symbolizing charity—the greatest virtue of all. Parents are invited to witness their daughters respond to The Invitation, a call to sisterhood, virtue, and mentorship within Fidelis.

During the Truth Acceptance, each young woman publicly affirms her faith and her desire to live a life of holiness. With eyes fixed on the crucifix, she responds with a simple “Yes” to questions about her dignity, vocation, and commitment to sisterhood. New sisters receive a Fidelis bracelet and charm, while graduating seniors are presented with a Miraculous Medal, a sign of Mary’s protection and intercession as they enter their final year.

A special theme anchors each year’s ceremony. For this year, the focus is Faith, guided by the witness of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini and St. Jacinta Marto, whose lives exemplify trust and confidence in God.

The ceremony concludes with the Fidelis Prayer, a communal offering entrusting all sisters to the Holy Spirit, and a priestly blessing that sends everyone forth renewed in purpose. Together, these sacred moments mark the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of virtue, service, and authentic Catholic sisterhood.
