5th Sunday in Ordinary Time & 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 8 & February 15, 2026

5th Sunday in OT: The faithful woman is holy and humble in conversation.

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to form young women in the virtue of faith as it is lived out through humility and holiness in conversation. By reflecting on how pride and self-reliance distort our speech, this lesson invites sisters to recognize that words have the power either to glorify God or to wound others. Through Scripture, Church teaching, and the example of gentle, curious engagement modeled in Paddington, the girls are encouraged to grow in holy curiosity, resist gossip and uncharitable speech, and learn when to speak, listen, or remain silent. This lesson helps sisters understand that faithful conversation flows from humility of heart and becomes a powerful witness to Christ when it is rooted in kindness, truth, and love.

6th Sunday in OT: The faithful woman reconciles with her sisters and brothers.

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to help young women understand reconciliation as an essential expression of faith, rooted in God’s mercy and reflected in our relationships with others and ourselves. By exploring the Sacrament of Reconciliation alongside the relational dynamics shown in Little Women, this lesson invites sisters to examine how pride, anger, and resentment fracture communion, while forgiveness restores peace and unity. The girls are encouraged to see reconciliation not as weakness, but as courageous trust in God’s mercy—one that calls them to seek healing, offer forgiveness, receive grace, and live as members of the Body of Christ. This lesson equips sisters to respond to conflict with compassion, humility, and faith, while also exercising prudence in setting healthy boundaries.
